Education Week

Last week was Public Education Week. We endeavoured to show how proud we are to belong to our school and our engagement with our wonderful community. I would like to thank all our school staff and families who came to our open classroom visits. The students were so happy to share their learning.

Thank you to our P&C for putting on a magnificent morning tea for the families. Your efforts to engage our families is very much appreciated!

We also had our Corroboree last Wednesday, where students learned about Aboriginal culture and history. Aunty Carol came to our school to share a story and visit classrooms.

We also had the NED Show. Abraham, the presenter, shared the important message of NED - Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. The tricks he showed us with the yoyos were very engaging. Many students have purchased yoyos and are trying to replicate the tricks.

P&C Meeting

The next P&C Meeting is Tuesday, 13th August at 10amin the school hall. Please support our P&C and attend if you can. We look forward seeing you there.

Bullying No Way - National Week of Action 12-16 August

This year's theme is 'Everyone belongs'. Belonging keeps us connected and is powerful protection against bullying. Belonging means that we all have a role in preventing bullying. We’re encouraged to speak up and create a safe place where everyone feels supported and respected, and our voices are heard and valued.

The 5 focus areas this week are:

  1. challenge stereotypes
  2. promote empathy
  3. embrace diversity
  4. foster positive relationships
  5. provide support.

All students will be participating in activities about these concepts throughout the week. Please talk to your child about the concepts to further reinforce the message that any form of bullying is unacceptable.

Quote for Week 4
