A word from our 2024 school Captains

Inclusion - Naysha Tomar

Welcome back to Term 3! This term there are a variety of events to look forward to.

In the first week back, we celebrated NAIDOC Week. This year’s theme was "Keep the fire burning! Blak, Loud and Proud". The VCE VM students and the Preston Mob students held a community barbeque during lunch to celebrate, which was a great way to bring our community together.

In the upcoming weeks Years 7, 8 and 9 will have their Wellbeing days. This Term, we have multiple chances to display our House spirit through the House Poetry/Writing Competition and House Debating (Go Tawny!!).

In Week 6, our Mary Poppins school production will be performed at the NCAT so please buy tickets and show your love and support to our hardworking cast and crew.

Community - Sturt Boltin

This is a busy time for all year levels. Every cohort has to make decisions regarding subjects and, at senior levels, about university and apprenticeships. For Cohort 2024 it's time to put in preferences for VTAC as the end of formal schooling approaches.

At the other end, Cohort 2029 are having their first taste of various electives. There have certainly been less whole school events recently, as we acclimatise to the traditionally busiest period of the year. Assessments are commonplace; workload reaches critical mass; Cohort 2024 have been working furiously towards this year’s school production Mary Poppins

Coming up this term, many cohorts will enjoy wellbeing days, learning about positive relationships, subject selection expos and more. It’s set to be a bustling term!

Excellence - Jessica Daniels

Hello students, parents and teachers! Hope you all had a lovely term break and are settling back into the school routine! Looking ahead at Term 3, all year levels will have a variety of incursions to help prepare us for the real world and help us maintain our mental health and wellbeing.

Year 9s will also have their Morrisby aptitude tests to help determine which careers, VCE subjects and university courses match their interests, personality, learning styles and so on. This is an important means for students to explore their passions and help guide career pathways. However, its also important to note that the results are only suggestions rather than a permanent, fixed plan for their lives.

I hope everyone has a wonderful term filled with lots of learning, passion to expand on current interests and motivation to pursue curiosity into new endeavours.
