Welcome back to school for an exciting Term 3!
We are pleased to welcome everyone back for an exciting Term 3. There is so much to look forward to this term, including a variety of activities and events designed to enrich our students' learning experiences.
Term 3 Curriculum Overviews will be shared with parents this Friday via Compass. This document outlines the learning focus of each Key Learning Area and exciting events your child will be engaged in throughout the term. The overview also includes your child’s sport and library days.
Our StMM’s Curriculum Overviews are a useful reference to keep somewhere prominent so that you can refer to it with your child and discuss their learning throughout the term.
Congratulations to our year three and five students who received their NAPLAN Individual Results earlier this week. This report outlines your child’s results from the NAPLAN Assessments conducted in term one. Individual student performance is measured using four proficiency levels: Exceeding, Strong, Developing and Needs Additional Support.
NAPLAN provides teachers, parents and students information relating to a student's strengths and areas of need and learning goals are developed in literacy and numeracy based on this assessments. The teachers will be unpacking the school data to inform the learning programmes.
After the holiday sleep-ins and perhaps lazy days with less routine, being back at school can be challenging for our children as they return to the school routine. This week it has been noticeable that some children are struggling to be at school on time. Arrival at school, particularly being on time, is important and sets your child up for a great day at school.
All children must be within the school grounds by 8:40am so that they are ready to join the morning assembly which commences at 8:40am. Arriving in the Kiss and Drop at 8:40am means that your child will be late for class as this is the bell time. Being late is unsettling for the children and a pattern of regular late arrival of just 10 mins can mean that over a week your child is missing an hour of schooling (by the time they arrive in the classroom). Punctuality is a necessary life skill and habit for children to develop.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a fantastic weekend.
God Bless
Rochelle
