Year 3

In Year 3, the students have been learning about the various forces around us and how we use them. They are very excited because they have had the chance to plan their own investigations and carry them out making sure they are a fair test of course!

In Writing, the students are developing their poetic skills looking at syllables and  creating simple poems with the AABB and ABAB ryming patterns.

In Mathematics, we have been looking at fractions comparing them and adding and subtracting those with the same or related denominators. We also have been learning about  the probability of events occurring, coming up ivestigations to test the likelihood of events occuring and to see if our mathematical predictions are accurate.

Science Incursion

In Week 4, the students will taking part in the Jollybops Science incursion! If you haven't already done so please make sure you log in to compass to give permission for your child to participate.

Nude Food

Each week, on a random day the students will be surveyed to see how much waste they have in their lunch box. This is an opportunity for families to think of ways they can reduce the disposble waste we can avoid, both at home and at school.

Graduation Fundraser- Pizza and Popper

To raise funds for Year 6 Graduation, a Pizza and Popper lunch will be held on Tuesday 6 August 2024. A choice of BBQ, Hawaiian or Margherita Pizza (pizzas supplied by Baker's Delight and are served cold) combined with a juice box will be available to purchase for a $6.00 meal deal.Purchase must be completed by midday 1 August.  Please note, this is an optional lunch, if your student does not wish to participate please provide a regular lunch on the day.

Late Sign In

We have had a few incidents of parents calling the school at the beginning of the day, saying their child has been marked as absent. It is incredibly important that if your child gets to school after the second bell, then a parent or guardian signs the students in at the office.

The classroom teacher usually does the roll first thing in the morning, so even if your child is only a few minutes late, the teacher will have expected them to be signed in.

If you are worried about your child being marked as absent, or if you are unable to sign them in when you drop them off, please ensure that they arrive at school before the bells (8.55am).

Year 4

In Year 4 we have been busy learning about our skeletal system within our Inquiry topic- The Human Body. We have also been growing our own vegetables from food scraps (pictures below).

With the Paris Olympics starting next week, we are writing Information Reports on an Australian Olympian and giving a speech on them.
