Nude Food

Each week, on a random day the students will be surveyed to see how much waste they have in their lunch box. This is an opportunity for families to think of ways they can reduce the disposable waste we can avoid, both at home and at school.

Lunchboxes

It has been noticed by several teachers in Grade 1, that many students have been arriving with no snack in their lunchbox and/or students have been mentioning that they are still hungry after eating time. We ask that you make sure your child has enough food in their lunchbox and a snack is provided even on Wednesdays or Fridays, if your child is having Classroom Cuisine or Subway. Also, please make sure your child has cutlery provided in their lunchbox if necessary, as the staff do not have cutlery to provide. Thank you!

Graduation Fundraiser- Pizza and Popper

To raise funds for Year 6 Graduation, a Pizza and Popper lunch will be held on Tuesday 6 August 2024. A choice of BBQ, Hawaiian or Margherita Pizza (pizzas supplied by Baker's Delight and are served cold) combined with a juice box will be available to purchase for a $6.00 meal deal. Purchase must be completed by midday 1 August.  Please note, this is an optional lunch, if your student does not wish to participate please provide a regular lunch on the day.

Grade 1 - Plastic Bottles

For our science lesson next week, we ask each Grade 1 student to bring in a plastic bottle or jar, that is no larger than 600ml, with a lid. If you have not brought one in already, could you please make sure you child has one for Monday next week (29th July).

Jollybops Whole School Science Incursion

On Tuesday 6th August, Jollybops Science will be visiting Vermont Primary School to present the 'Mix It Up' Chemistry Show for students in Foundation to Grade 2.

A high-humoured, high energy fully interactive show for F-2 audiences looking at properties of materials, chemical reactions and how we interact with and use the chemical world around us. It’s Chemistry at its best for this age group, explosive gases, combusting powders and metals, freezing liquids, colour changing reactions and slimey gooey polymer worms. Who knows what will happen when Rusty the Robot and the Jolly Professor explore the chemical and material world. A real Blast!

The cost is $7 per student. Please complete the payment and permission form on Compass for your child to attend.

Special Assembly- Olympics

On Monday 22nd July, VPS turned into an Olympic extravaganza! There were students dressed up in Aussie colours, athletes and others representing their country. We had a lovely assembly which showcased a teacher vs student balloon game and we even held an awards ceremony. Attached are some photos from the day.

What's Happening in the Classroom
