Assistant Principals' Report

Dear HPS Community,

There have been many enriching and engaging learning opportunities occuring across our school over this last week. Today, we would like to share a crossage learning experience involving our Foundation and Grade 6 students, and highlight our Physical Education program.

This term, with support from Grade 6 students, Foundation PE students have been improving their hand eye coordination by throwing, rolling and catching using balloons, bean bags and balls. They’ve been working on their strength on the balance beam, locomotion through an obstacle course and fitness and body awareness with scooter boards.

We know that Physical Education lessons are a highlight for many students here at HPS and we would like to acknowledge the support our PE teachers, Ethan Griffiths and Fiona Welsh give to our students to build skills and knowledge in health and physical activity, thank you!

Over the school holidays, Mrs Durando and Mrs Pilinis went shopping with some of the school’s wellbeing money. They went in search of some picture story books with a focus around wellbeing and inclusion. Monique and I had the pleasure of looking through some of the beautiful, new books this week and I have taken a few photos. Some of books will be placed into circulation for students to borrow and read at home and others will be kept more as mentor texts for staff to use and read to different classes across the school.

Please see a few pictures below of some of the new titles to be found in our school library soon.

Have a great weekend!
