Principal's Report

Dear HPS Community,

It has been another fabulous week of learning and students have excelled at demonstrating our school values of Responsibility, Respect, Resilience and Compassion. Keep up the great work everyone and we look forward to celebrating lots of wonderful achievements next week.

3 way conferences

Next week after school on Wednesday and Thursday, students and their parents/carers have the opportunity to attend a scheduled meeting with classroom teacher. Students are expected to attend with their parents as it is important for communication between home and school to include parents, teachers and the student.

We do not have appointment times open to book in with specialist teachers (Art, PE, Japanese, Library and Science) as there are simply not enough spaces available to accomodate large numbers of students. Instead, specialist teachers will open their learning areas on both evenings and be available to showcase their classroom spaces and discuss their program with families.

Disco

Get excited and dust of those dancing shoes HPS students, there is only one week to go until the 2024 School Disco!!

This is an opt in event with tickets for purchase via the notification sent through Compass. No late ticket sales will be accepted so please be sure to book your ticket by Wednesday next week.

Please note- SAC staff can sign Foundation- Year 2 students into their event from the aftercare program, however, they must be collected and signed out by parents or carers at the conclusion of the disco.

Parent/ Guardian/ Carer Opinion Survey

You will receive a Compass newsfeed on Monday inviting your participation in the annual Parent/ Guardian/ Carer Opinion Survey. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.

Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.

Book week

It's nearly that time of the year again, when creativity and the wonderful world of books collide! Start thinking about and planning for your book week costume for 2024. A whole school parade will be held on the morning of Friday 23rd August. Families welcome to attend and join in the fun.
