From the Library

National Simultaneous Read

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops, and many other places around the country. Now in its 24th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

This year NSS takes place on Wednesday 22 May 2024 at 12:00pm and we are going to be a part of it here at RNPS!

This years’ selected book is ‘Bowerbird Blues’ by Aura Parker.

Aura Parker is an award-winning illustrator, writer and designer. Her picture books are joyful with a playful sense of humour, brimming with details to explore. Aura Parker’s storytelling though words and pictures inspires imagination, courage and confidence in young readers as well as a love, curiosity and passion for nature.

THANK YOU!

A huge thank you to the Rennison Family who have been busy covering so many of our new books for the library. Our library captain, Eleanor, has enlisted her ex-librarian grandmother to assist in covering our books and they have all done such a wonderful (and speedy!) job. Thank you so much Rennison's!

If you would like to assist in the library too, whether it be covering books, helping put books away, or a number of other jobs, please send Elle Stanley an email and she will be able to assign you a little job! Any help we can receive will be greatly appreciated.
