Term 1 Wrap Up

As we approach the end of a busy Term 1, it has been fantastic to see how well all of our students have settled into the year. Over the last few weeks, Mr Chatterton, Mrs Trend and I have been conducting school tours for families interested in joining RNPS this year, and for Prep, 2025. These tours have involved visiting classrooms and having conversations with both teachers and students, giving our guests a real sense of what we’re all about. I must say, I feel a deep sense of pride when showcasing our school to prospective parents and sharing the brilliant work taking place within our classrooms. Visitors often comment on how engaged our students are and how well they talk about their learning experiences with great enthusiasm and clarity. I’d like to thank all of our teachers, education support staff, and office staff for all their efforts this term, as well as our students for bringing their energy to our school every day. And of course, a big thanks to our parents for their ongoing support - it’s what makes our school community so special.

As we head into the Easter break, I encourage everyone to take some time to relax and enjoy the things they love, whether it's spending time with family and friends or simply taking a moment for themselves. I look forward to seeing everyone back after the break, ready to tackle the rest of the year together. Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter!

Friendship Day & Colour Splash

"When can we do it again?" - this was one of the last comments I had from a student as they left to head home from our Friendship and Colour Splash Day. I have to admit, I was thinking the same!

There was a wonderful feeling of community and positivity all across the school. The energy began at assembly when all students put a fantastic effort into the whole school song ‘Moment of Truth’. How cool was the surprise use of colour to really make the song and dance pop!?

The Maroondah Positive Education Project Officer was invited on the day to view the students work and gain a better understanding of our UrStrong program. She was blown away by how confident the students knew aspects of the program they had been learning and their ability to articulate different skills to her. I'd like to acknowledge the amount of thought and hard work our students and teachers put into creating a great Friendship Expo in their year levels. If you were unable to make it on the day, I encourage you to have a conversation with your child about the skills and strategies they were educating our community about during the expo.

I couldn’t finish without touching on how magnificent the Colour Splash Run was. It is now an annual event students can not wait to be part of. The smiles, laughter and joy seen on everyone's faces as we ran with our friends and were splashed with colour head to toe (thank you to the parant who managed to splash me right in the mouth) really showcased how important it is to continue to work on our friendships and make time to connect.

A special thank you to members of the PFA for organising the glasses, working on making the course super fun and helping us achieve a wonderful financial amount to put towards some essential resources for our school.

Mrs Love's Greatest Shave

To say we are proud is an understatement. At this afternoon's final assembly, Mrs Love completed her end of the deal for the World's Greatest Shave - an amazing act of selflessness and demonstration of compassion and empathy. Leadership would also like to acknowledge and thank the amazing RNPS community for supporting Mrs Love both financially and emotionally. Words of encouragement and praise over the past few weeks gave Mrs Love the extra drive and confidence to get to the big occasion. I'm sure for all of us, the build up to today's big shave has provided us with a deeper understanding of the amount of people in our community who have been impacted by cancer and intense admiration for those who have, or currently are, fighting the disease. Together, we have smashed Mrs Love's initial goal of raising $1,000 for the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre! As it stands, Mrs Love's total has exceeded $6,000!!!

Congratulations Mrs Love, you have done an incredible job honouring the incredible cancer fighters and the lives they've touched. You're an inspiration!
