Principal's Report

 - Tania Sorbello

Yet another great fortnight of learning has happened for the students of FNPS with the children deeply immersed in engaging learning tasks to build deep understanding and foster curiosity! The culmination of this learning will be presented to families at our Inquiry Showcase Open afternoon on Wednesday 27 March 2024 from 3:00pm – 3:45pm.

Thank you to the parents and carers who have taken on the role of Grade Parents for 2024. It was great to see you all come together this week to build a supportive community who can assist our families with communications throughout the year.

Thank you also to our army of FNPS community members making up our contacting task force. Over two weeks, the team have made a dint in the more than 1000 new decodable readers, which will distributed to students in the very near future.

The team meet each Friday in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden at 9am. Feel free to come along and join in the contacting shenanigans!

Divisional Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to those students who represented FNPS at Divisional Swimming this week. Thank you to Ben and our parents and carers who were able to attend and support our students. Next Thursday, we have a number of students moving on to represent our school at a Regional level and we wish all of those students well in their respective events.

Next week will see the students undertaking the Language Conventions assessment, along with Numeracy on Monday and Tuesday. This will allow for catch up sessions to be undertaken on Wednesday through until Monday 25 March should a child be absent.

Progress Reports

Progress Reports have been published to families this afternoon. These reports explore how students have adjusted to the 2024 school year. Progress Reports focus on the following important aspects of your child’s learning:

  • Engagement
  • Effort
  • Wellbeing

The information has been delivered through our online information platform, Compass, and will provide parents and carers with valuable information about your child’s progress. Should you have any concerns about your child’s learning or wellbeing, please speak to your classroom teacher or a member of leadership.

Finally, I will be taking two days Long Service Leave on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 March 2024. I will be heading off on a trip with a group of families to commemorate some milestone birthdays that we are celebrating this year. Should you have any queries on these days, please feel free to reach out to Toby for assistance.

Go gently,

Tania
