Group 13 

One of the many highlights for Group 13 over the last few weeks of Term 1 has been our visit to the Rail Academy in Newport.

This excursion allowed us all to be actively involved in ‘hands-on’ technology. We not only had the opportunity to see and explore a disused train, but we also engaged in a planning process to design our own station. We then completed activities using simple robots, circuits and coding, and observed railway tracks being created.

A highlight for many of our students was the opportunity to sit in the driver’s seat of a real train and learn all about the many controls and signals.
