Culture Club Italy

In Term 3, the EALD Team and our Italian teacher Signorina Jones collaborated to present Culture Club Italy to our students in Year 2- Year 5. 

We were fortunate that Ari and Costa’s grandad, Nonno Luigi was available to help us make bruschetta in our first session. This had the colours of the Italian flag and they were eagerly gobbled up by everyone. 

Nonna (grandma) Maria came in session two, to share Italian family holiday photos and talk to us about the different regions of Italy. We all sampled some Crostoli that Nonna Maria prepared earlier. They were very light and delicious.

Miss Lim, Signorina Jones and I all had fun dying pasta so the students could make a pasta map of Italy in their class groups. The students also made colourful masks for Venice Carnavale and tried some refreshing gelato which they had to order in Italian guided by Signorina Jones.  The Gelato was “delizioso” and a real hit with staff and students alike.
