School Board

In Week 1 of Term 4, I will be calling for nominations for parent representatives on the school board. I urge parents/carers to consider nominating for the Board. If you would like to know more about our school board, please contact Reception on 9266 6200 for the contact number of our Board Chair Mr Brad Warburton.

One of the focus areas for the Board this year was school sports. In our 2022 National Schools Opinion Survey a number of parents provided feedback on school sport.  As a result of this feedback we have introduced a contact parent for parent volunteers, updated our interschool sport shirts, and included Year 3 and 4 in a SLAM basketball competition run by parent volunteers.  The Board is keen for further feedback on school sports. A form survey with two questions has been sent to parent/carer contacts via Connect. This survey is open until the end of Term 4, Week 2, Friday 20th October.

Dr Jags invited Board members to Parliament House on Wednesday.  We were able to not only visit Parliament House but could also listen as parliament was sitting. It was very informative.

Athletics Carnival

Our junior and senior athletics carnivals were held last week. Despite a bit of drizzle, both days were highly successful. Thank you to Mrs Bain who organized both days with the assistance of Mr Vinci, Mr Scott, Mrs Lindley, and Mr Bradshaw. Thanks also to all of the staff who assisted on the days and to our wonderful parent helpers.  So many people contributing their time made for a couple of great days for all.  Our P & C, with the support of donations of food from our families, are to be acknowledged for their hard work in providing such a successful cake stall for two days running. Well done to P & C president Mrs Stanton-Cook and her volunteers.

Massed Choir

The Massed Choir which was held at the Perth Concert Hall on Wednesday evening was another success again this year. Our compere Aiyka and soloist Finn did an outstanding performance.  Our choir sung beautifully and were very well prepared from all their hard work rehearsing.  We’re so fortunate to have such an accomplished musician and teacher as Ms Coleman guiding our students.  Ms Coleman playing of the trumpet on the evening was stunning.

I wish our school community a safe and relaxing holiday and look forward to seeing students back on Tuesday 10th October.
