Year 8 Religious Buffet
On the 4th of September, the Year 8 students hosted the Religious Buffet for special guests from 8 different religions. The Year 8s had been organising this event across the whole term and were in full control of the event with the teacher’s assistance.
On the day, each group's host greeted their special guest and had them seated at the table of their religion, each guest was accompanied by staff and fellow Year 8 and 12 students. The tables were decorated beautifully by the students which made the event even more wonderful. Each group also had their own art pieces, whether that have been a music piece or art project, and these were showcased during each group’s presentation.
Each group made their own dishes and drinks which represented their allocated religion, the Christian Science group had made Turkish sliders whilst the Islam group made Shish Kebab. Of course, these are only 2 dishes out of the 24. The hours leading to the buffet were quite hectic and stressful in the kitchen, the caterers spent the whole day cooking and baking their meals. Everything that was made by the caterers was enjoyed by every single one of the guests, some of the students even received compliments because of how delicious the food and drinks were.
Throughout the project, the students learnt and gained more skills about teamwork, taking initiative and organisation. Overall, the Religious uffet was a great experience for everyone, and helped build teamwork. The day was a success with many people leaving satisfied and it was wonderful to see it all come to life.

VCE Indonesian
Last week the Indonesian Department held an Indonesian traditional ceremony called ‘Selamatan’. The aim of the ceremony was to bless and send good luck to all our Units 3 and 4 students who will be taking their final VCE Oral Test on the first day of Term 4 and their VCE written examination in November. The ceremony started with a prayer followed by Indonesian traditional lunch, ‘Nasi Tumpeng’. Please wish the Units 3 and 4 good luck for their final examination.

NEW ART AROUND THE GROUNDS
Three new Circular Mosaics have been installed outside the Senior AT2 art room.
These were created by the Year 8 Art Group, working on the theme of What is Huntingtower?
They decided on three important things at Huntingtower.
The ‘HT’ logo styled for Artwork 1, ‘Nosce te Ipsum’ for Artwork 2 and ‘You Are Loved’ for Artwork 3.
Their insight into what they see as HUNTINGTOWER and the HT community, were extraordinarily clear. Such a joyful group of works to lift your spirits and remind you of our community, as you walk through the Art area.
Congratulations Year 8 Art!
