The following was written by Dion, who competed in the Grade 5/6 Summer Sports.
In the morning we hopped on the bus at 9am. Once we got there we sorted out the teams. There was a team B and a team C. We had to wait an hour until our game was ready, while we were waiting we cheered on other teams as they were playing.
Our coach was Griffin's dad and our first game of bsketball we played agianst Longwarry. At the end of the game it was going to be a tie but Bryn got the rebound and dribbled to the other end and got a layup and it was a victorious win.
Our second game we versed Yarragon which was an easy win , the scores were 8 to 23. Our third game we went into the semi finals and versed Drouin. It was hard for Traf A but we tried our best but sadly we didn't make it into the grand finals.
So after that we watched the grand finals for the soft ball. Trafalgar lost so after that we hopped on the bus and went back to school and stayed outside until the bell went. It was a really fun day.

On Tuesday all the grade 5 & 6's went to Drouin to play their different sports.
There was volleyball, basketball, softball and lastly there was Teeball.
All of the summer sports teams were good but not all of them got through to the finals. There were a lot of schools there, Drouin, St Louis and St Kieran.
There were multiple teams in multiple sports and all of the teams tried really hard to win. Not everyone won but everyone put in a lot of effort and they all had fun.
After a long day of sports everyone was tired and wanted to go home. Everyone got on the bus and we all frove back to school.
Trafalgar Primary School would love to still do this and if you would like to help out with the differnet sports, give the reception a call to helpout!
The following was written by Lace and Jasmine, who competed in the Hot Shots Tennis competition.
On Monday the grade 5/6 went to the Warragul tennis courts for the Hotshots Tennis Competition.
When we all got there all the students and staff members found a spot to put all their bags down next to the courts. Soon after we all put our stuff down and we got to know our teams, there were 4 teams, 3 boys teams and 1 girls team.
After 5 minutes of having fun and practising we all went off to go play doubles matches. Unfortunately the first doubles matche that the girls A team played was a scratch match because the first team they played didn't have enough people for a team.
Unfortunately the boys A team didn't win their first game against Drouin's A team. But they went on to win the second match against the St Thomas A team.
After the long day of playing tennis the boys team didn't make it to the grand final because they didnt win enough games but they still had a great time.
But the girls A team made it to the grand final and won. Now in a couple of weeks the girls A teams will go on to play divisional hotshots tennis in Traralgon.

On Sunday, October 8th, Poppy participated in the District Semi-Finals of the Lions Club Public Speaking Competition, hosted at the Trafalgar Community Centre. With over 70 attendees, the event gathered 14 talented students from across Gippsland.
Poppy's speech, "Amazing Guinness World Records," was a standout performance. The competition attracted participants from as far as Bairnsdale in the East, Warragul in the West, and Rawson Erica to the North.
While Poppy's journey in the 2023 competition ends here, we couldn't be proud of her reaching the Semi-Finals. Her dedication and confidence were truly commendable in the face of such strong competition.
We'd like to express our gratitude to the participating schools and students, and extend a special thanks to our hardworking JPS coordinators, Pat Tatterson and Joanna Reekie, for their guidance in developing our students' public speaking skills.
The Lions Club Public Speaking Competition has proven to be an excellent platform for boosting confidence and honing public speaking abilities.
