Number & Algebra   I   Measurement & Geometry   I   Statistics & Probability

In numberwe will be working with numbers beyond 20 and making numbers using place value. Learning will continue to occur through hands-on activities to further develop and consolidate the children’s understanding of the four operations. They will also be involved in problem solving activities and games.

In measurement, students will be studying the measurement of time and looking at clock time. We will be revisiting 2D and 3D shapes and discussing their attributes.

In statistics and probability, the children will be answering yes/no questions from data collected.

In measurement, we will be working on length, mass and capacity. Students will use informal units of measurement such as unifix blocks, teddies or counters to measure the length of various objects. They will be introduced to the language of mass and capacity such as heavy, light, more than and less than. Students will get the opportunity to measure, compare and order the capacity and mass of a variety of objects.

In statistics and probability, children will be introduced to the language of chance and learn to identify things that will, might and won’t happen.
