The Principal Team

Our Magnificent Walkathon.

Welcome back to Term 4 and all the excitement that comes with it. We hope you and your family enjoyed the term break as we welcome longer and sunnier days. It was great during this first week back to see so many parents attend our Year 5 Science Expo and enjoy our students' work. We have been pleased to hear that students were so passionate about their projects as they were initiating conversations at home about their work. This is exactly what we want. Meaningful connections between the classroom and home. Thank you to Year 5 parents for supporting this.

The Walkathon

The skies cleared so that we could finally hold our much anticipated Walkathon today. Once again it was further evidence of how Beaumaris Primary excels when it comes to events organised and supported by parents and carers. We are so happy to be back in the swing after lockdowns and oval works put things on hold. Our students enjoyed the morning, walked with determination, and raised funds towards the refurbishment of our school hall. I can only say once again thank you to our parent community. Special thanks to Lisa and Camilla for leading this, and persisting after weather got in the way of our first proposed date.

Off-Site Evacuation Practice

We have been diligent in our duty-of-care by ensuring our Emergency Management procedures have been kept up-to-date and we continue to reflect on "best practice". This has included termly emergency drills. In the first half of the year we did an on-site evacuation and a lockdown. Both went very well, as did our off-site evacuation yesterday. I want you to know that your children were exemplary in the calm but serious manner in which they engaged with the practice. Really outstanding! Thank you to our staff for supporting their understanding of the reason for the practice and the process. Also thanks to Mrs Fitzgerald for her excellent organisation of this event.

Your Child's Safety

Over the holidays we became aware of visitors, who are not a part of our immediate school community,  coming onsite. We have been so happy to keep our gates open to the community and have had only one isolated problem associated with this earlier in the year.  We do wish to remind our school community that outside school hours there is no-one onsite to monitor who is on site. If your child is coming onto the grounds after school, or during weekends or holidays, please ensure they are supervised or have a clear understanding of caution around unknown adults.

Wishing you a terrific weekend with your families.
