Year 3/4 News

Reading

Students are learning to identify an author's purpose—whether to entertain, inform, or persuade. We are also exploring how authors engage readers and maintain their interest in a book.

Writing

We are learning to understand the structure of persuasive writing. Students are developing their skills by brainstorming opinions and planning reasons to support their arguments.

Maths

This week, we are learning to recognise, estimate, and calculate time durations. Students are learning to identify formal units of time, estimate and check durations using timers, read digital timers, calculate the time between events, and convert between different time units.

Resilience Project

We are learning to identify and describe different emotions. Students labelled and explained emotions, associated them with colours, and expressed their feelings through drawings and emojis.

Science

Students have been investigating evaporation and how heat transforms water into vapour, causing it to rise into the air. They also explored the water cycle and its key processes.
