Parents & Friends- Week 7

The P & F is made up of all our parents within the school community, however there are members that have an executive role which is necessary to the running of this group. Please feel free to contact any of these members should you wish to run an event etc.

A reminder that any correspondence that goes out on behalf of the P & F can be sent to the executive team to approve. This allows for us to make sure that the executive team is aware of any correspondence and is able to respond to queries in relation to it.
Shrove Tuesday - 4 March
On Tuesday 4 March, children participated in cooking pancakes together with parent volunteers. It was lovely to hear from our volunteer parents on the day, they all mentioned that our students all displayed excellent cooperative skills such as sharing, being inclusive and respectful to their peers and adults.
A big thankyou to Kathryn for coordinating this event and to our helpers on the day; Dennis, Hannah, Clare, Prudence and Nicole.
Harmony Day- Monday 17 March
This year the P & F will be providing the students with an ice cream treat to celebrate Harmony Day. Thank you to Sonia for organising this event and to Malissa, Patricia and Randa for helping on the day.
Ride to School- Friday 21 March
The school will send out details about the Ride to School event, however as a treat, the P & F will be handing out cut oranges for the students as they arrive at school.
Burger Day- Wednesday 26 March
We have our very first special food day for 2025, organised by Andy and Rosemary Jones. At this stage we only have 1 volunteer and we would love a few more.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: If you are able to help out on the day by packing and serving orders, please click on the link and email us with your name and number and we will get back to you.

Easter Raffle- Drawn on 28 March @ our school assembly
This year our annual easter raffle will be coordinated by Simone. We need donations for the raffle prizes. Please see the flyer with the details. ALL proceeds of the raffle will be donated to the Royal Children’s Hospital in the name of all students at St. Mary’s School, Thornbury.
Prep/1 Event
A big thank you to Emily (Prep) and Paul (1) who have volunteered to organise a catch up for the Prep/1 families. An Operoo communication has been sent to all families in Prep/Grade 1 please rsvp by March 22nd.
Uniforms
We have a lot of second hand uniform items in great condition, please email us with what you need and your child’s class and we will send it home with your child.
Thank you to Lisa Crupi and Lydia Ward who will be in charge of organising and the upkeep of the second hand uniforms.

Margaret Marciano
The 2025 Parents and Friends community would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to Margaret for all her efforts supporting this group over the past years. Margaret has been a supporter of all events that the P & F have run, from fetes, stalls, special food days and many many more.
