FIRST AID INCURSION...

ST JOHN’S AMBULANCE - FIRST AID INCURSION MARCH 7TH

Each year our students complete the First Aid training provided by St John’s Ambulance.  Knowing First aid and being able to help in the unlikely event of an emergency is a vital lifestyle.

The focus for the Junior school was on calling OOO and knowing what details to provide to the operator including their home address.

In the middle years students were taught the recovery position and could demonstrate this on a classmate.

Senior students learnt the acronym DRSABCD and what each letter stands for and how this helps us respond in an emergency situation. These students also learnt CPR and were able to demonstrate this skill on the mannequins.

The St John's presenter was so impressed with our school and our students.  As she was leaving she was singing the praises of our students and staff.  She spoke about how respectful our students were and how they asked great questions and were responsive to the sessions. She then posted this on our Facebook page...

WELL DONE TEAM ST MARY'S!!
