School Council Update

February 2025

Welcome to 2025! We’re excited to bring you the first edition of the Le Page Primary School Council update for this year! Our goal is to keep an open line of communication between the School Council and our school community, ensuring everyone stays informed about the important work we do to support the growth, development, and success of our school.

The School Council plays a vital role in setting the direction of our school and ensuring that all decisions are made in the best interests of our students.

Key Topics from Our Recent Meeting

  • New School Council & Office Bearer Appointments (See below for details)

  • WhatsApp Communication Update – The new ‘announcements’ feature is working well, and class chats have been positive and productive.

  • Canteen Discussions – Investigations are ongoing, and we appreciate any input from the school community.

  • Fundraising & Social Events – We brainstormed new ideas for fundraising and discussed how funds will be allocated. If you can assist through volunteering, donations, or have business connections willing to support our school with prizes or sponsorship, please get in touch with our fundraising team.

  • District Swimming Sports – Congratulations to the 24 students representing Le Page PS at the district swimming sports on Monday, 3 March. We wish you all the best – swim strong!

  • Exciting Learning Opportunities – Our students now have access to fantastic programs, including Born to Soar, the Victorian High Ability Program, and the Sir John Monash Science Outreach Program. Well done to all students participating!

  • Upcoming Classroom Observations – Keep an eye on announcements for upcoming opportunities to observe your child’s learning in action.

  • School Maintenance Updates – Improvements are underway, including new paths to the portable classrooms, concrete work, and entry ramp upgrades.

  • Painting Works – A contractor has been selected to refresh the school's paintwork, with major works planned for the Term 1 holidays. Some additional work may occur outside of this period.

  • Gould League Buildings – We reviewed and discussed a site layout proposal for these buildings.
