Interhouse Athletics:
A big congratulations to everyone who took part in the Interhouse Cross Country on Wednesday last week. Even the heat couldn’t stop our enthusiasm or performance. There were some terrific outfits and colours that students took time in preparing which only added to the day.
A big shout out to all the adults (staff, families, volunteers, organisations) that helped us make the day tick! We couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.
Overall house points will be announced soon, along with age group champions and the District Aths team. Stay tuned!
Interhouse Cross Country:
The Interhouse Cross Country is fast approaching on 1 April, 2025 (April Fools Day). In preparation for the day, students will be walking the course during their P.E. lesson to familiarise them with their route between the below dates:
- Prep – Grade 2 – 24 – 28 March, 2025
- Grade 3-6 classes - 17 – 28 March, 2025 (excluding 3PW)
Local excursion permission will be used for this activity, so no further action is required from you if you have done this. Students without permission will remain at school in an alternative classroom. Hats and water bottles will be compulsory for the walk.
If your child does not walk the course during their planned session, it would be great if you could do this with them prior to the event so they know the course. Links to all maps can be found HERE.
If there is anyone available to walk the course during your child’s P.E. lesson, can you please contact your class teacher. Thank you in advance to anyone who can assist.
We are in need again for adults to help us out marshalling around the track. If you are able to spare some time on this day to help us out (click here to view the positions needed), please email claire.morris@education.vic.gov.au. Thank you in advance to anyone who can assist! We can’t possibly run these events without our community’s support!
Term 2 Afterschool Netball:
Grade 3-6 students have the opportunity to join a team in the Darroch Afterschool Netball Competition at Llanberris Netball Stadium. These will be run on Tuesday afternoons (game times expected to be 4.05pm, 4.55pm and 5.45pm) in Term 2 (commencing 6 May, 2025, running for 8 weeks) and is a participation competition only (i.e. there are no finals). The competition will run for eight weeks. Permission and payment can be found on Compass.
This is not a staffed event and parents/guardians are responsible for all aspects of their child's participation (transport, supervision, first aid, etc).
Grade 3-6 students (boys and girls) interested in joining a team will need to register via Compass and make payment before 31 March, 2025. Please note that we will endeavour to include all interested students and preferred days. Teams will be decided by Claire Morris and will be based around the groups of Grade 3/4 and Grade 5/6.
The non-refundable initial cost of $30 will need to be paid upon registration (31 March, 2025). There will be an additional cost for VNA (insurance) if your child does not already have this. There is also a possibility of an additional team payment, dependent on numbers and we do not expect it to be more than $10. A refund will be given to those not placed in a team. Uniform will be provided this year and the hire of these is included in the cost. As this is not a staffed event we will require parental assistance at the game to coach and score. Please indicate on the registration form if you are interested in filling the coaching/scorer's roll. N.B. teams will not be entered without a designated coach.
Please contact Claire Morris if you have any further questions.
