Lent Appeal - We need your help!

This year we are seeking to raise funds and awareness to support the work of the Edmund Rice Centre Nairobi. If a young person is enrolled at the school, they are freed from circumstances that often result in being chained to a bed in the dark confines of their shelter in the slums to keep them safe while their parents search for work and meals. To assist in further students receiving the opportunity to enrol at the school and benefit from its services, the College is seeking to raise $40,000. Such funds would create four new classrooms for additional students to enrol.

This equates to $5 per student each week during Lent or $30 per student.

Hope - Doorway to the future

On Wednesday St Pius X and Mercy joined together as pilgrims of hope, to dialogue and hold space within conversation in the Spirit. They discerned where the Holy Spirit was calling them to shared actions and initiatives to bring hope to their individual communities.

The synodal process was facilitated by Fr David Ranson, Vicar General for the Diocese of Broken Bay and the Our Lady of Dolours Parish team.

In the presence of young people filled with faith, one can see the sparks of the Resurrection dawning anew.

May such sparks fan into flames and ignite hearts committed to God and a hope filled future.

St Peter's: Wisdom and Harmony

On Wednesday after school, students volunteered at St Peter’s Aged Care in Lane Cove as part of our weekly Social Outreach programs. Students assisted in decorating in preparation for Harmony Day and spent quality time in conversation from generous wisdom figures. We are blessed to have waiting lists of students seeking to be the hands and feet of Christ through programs such as these.

Youth Mass this Sunday

This Sunday St Pius X and Mercy College will celebrate the second Youth Mass for 2025 at 5:30 pm at Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Church Chatswood. A pizza dinner will follow the Mass and is a wonderful opportunity to share faith, friendship and food. Please take up the opportunity to refill your inner cup!

Taize Night - Next Friday 28 March

Next Friday, there will be a Taize night held at Mercy Catholic College in their chapel for anyone who wishes to attend. Our students relished the opportunity last year to attend and are looking forward to this next opportunity. Parents are most welcome. The evening commences in their chapel at 6:00 pm.
