2025 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
Oberon Athletics Carnival 2025: A day of achievement, spirit, and record-breaking performances
The much-anticipated Oberon Athletics Carnival was held on Thursday 27th February at Landy Field, with students showing enthusiasm and talent across a wide range of events. A favourable weather forecast provided the perfect setting for what turned out to be a memorable day of athletics, house spirit, and school pride.
One of the major outcomes of the 2025 carnival was the high level of participation across all year levels. From the 12-13s through to the 18-20s, every event was filled, with only the 4x100m relays missing due to time constraints. However, this gap will be addressed at the upcoming Cross Country event in a few weeks.
House spirit shines through
It was fantastic to witness such strong house spirit across all age groups. Whether it was the cheers from the sideline or the excitement on the track, students showed tremendous support for their peers, creating a sense of camaraderie that filled the whole day. This school-wide energy created a positive, motivating environment, and we saw students striving to do their best for their houses and teammates. Congratulations to Thomson House who backed up their Swimming Sports victory, claiming the Athletics trophy as well. Greeves House will have to deal with coming second again, followed by Lipson and Cameron Houses.
Record-breaking performances
The Oberon Athletics Carnival saw several new records set, highlighting the talent we have within our school. These achievements will go down in the school’s sporting history, and we celebrate the students who pushed themselves to break new records in their age-group events.
