Year Four

Edendale Farm Excursion

On Friday 14th March, the Year Four students went on an exciting excursion to Edendale Farm! As part of our current unit of inquiry, Sharing the Planet, students inquired into our central idea; Human actions impact the sustainability of living things. Students learned about the importance of soil and worms, and how we can keep our Year Four worm farm thriving. We also learnt about the impact humans have on our waterways, and the fascinating world of bees, waterbugs, and the Eltham Copper Butterfly. We explored the farm and got to feed the chickens, goats and sheep. We also got to pat guinea pigs, which everyone loved and held a worm!

It was a fantastic day filled with hands-on learning and a deeper appreciation for nature! The Year Four students were exemplary representatives of our school by showing safe, kind and respectful behaviour towards the Edendale staff, the local environment and to one another.
