Mathematics @ ENPS

Moving from Mathematics Victorian Curriculum 1.0 to 2.0 in 2025

The Victorian Curriculum F-10 sets out what every student should learn during their first 11 years of schooling. It balances the requirement for a comprehensive array of knowledge and skills to be taught and learnt with the desire for authentic teaching and learning programs that are responsive to the learning needs of students. This year all Victorian students will be learning the revised Mathematics 2.0 curriculum.

The major changes are within the strands, which are moving from the three strands to six interrelated strands. The strands group the content descriptions, to provide both a focus and a clear sequence for the development of related concepts and skills across levels.

The six strands are:

  • Number

  • Algebra

  • Measurement

  • Space

  • Statistics (commencing at Foundation Level C)

  • Probability (commencing at Level 3)

The staff at ENPS have been involved in a variety of professional learning to upskill themselves about the changed content in the curriculum and how these link to the Big Ideas in Mathematics.
