From the Year Prep Classroom

In Reading we have continued our learning of Fiction Texts. We have been working hard on predicting, retelling and discussing texts. During our independent work time we have continued to practice the skill of sounding out and blending together to become a fluent and strong reader. 

In Writing we are continuing to gain more confidence in writing down our ideas about what we did on the weekend! We are working really hard to write down the sounds we hear in words independently.  We have also been retelling Fiction texts using a Beginning, Middle and End template. 

In Maths we have been learning how to skip count by 10’s, 5’s and 2’s! We have been continuing to revise our learning from term 2 including addition, subtraction and friends of 10.  

In Religion we are learning about the symbols of Baptism. We participated in a Baptism Godly play, where Mrs Myers showed us what happens during the sacrament of Baptism. 

We can’t believe we have completed a HALF of prep already - We are so proud of all the learning the preps have done during this time.

Just a reminder that we finish school at 2.15pm on Friday, our last day of term - there will be no assembly on this day.
