Albanvale Primary School's LITFEST is just around the corner, and we have an exciting line up of events planned for our students! From engaging activities at the local library to a vibrant dress-up day and our much-anticipated LITFEST Reading Café, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Mark your calendars and join us in celebrating the joy of Reading and Writing!

Dress-Up Day

Kick off LITFEST with a splash of colour and creativity! On Monday, students are invited to

 come to school dressed as their favourite book characters. From classic heroes to contemporary favourites, we can't wait to see the imaginative costumes our students come up with. This is a fantastic way to celebrate the characters and stories that inspire us. Parents, feel free to get involved by helping your children prepare their costumes for the day!

Library Visits for Younger Students

Our younger students will have the opportunity to visit the local library throughout the week. These visits will include interactive storytelling sessions, fun activities, and a chance to explore the wonderful world of books. The library staff have prepared a series of engaging and age-appropriate activities that are sure to captivate the imaginations of our young readers. It's a perfect way to foster a love of reading from an early age and introduce children to the resources available at their local library.

LITFEST Reading Café: A Treat for Parents and Students

We are delighted to invite parents to our LITFEST Reading Café! This special event will

 take place in the school during the week, with more details to come. Join us in the excitement of the LITFEST Café, where you can read alongside your children and enjoy quality time together. To make the experience even more special we'll be offering free coffee for parents and hot chocolate for students. It's a perfect opportunity for parents to connect with their children over a shared love of reading.

The Annual APS Spelling Bee

The excitement continues with our annual APS Spelling Bee! Throughout the week, class champions will compete in thrilling rounds of spelling challenge. The event will culminate in the grand finale during the LITFEST Reading Café, where the top spellers from each class will go head-to-head in a spell-off to be crowned the APS Spelling Bee Champion. Parents are invited to cheer on the participants, and we promise it will be a fun and educational competition that showcases our students' spelling prowess.

Literacy-Themed Classroom Activities 

Throughout the week, teachers will incorporate literacy-themed activities into their lessons. These activities are designed to enhance students' reading and writing skills while making learning fun.
