Principal's News

Updates from Miss Maree

As we head into the final two weeks of this semester it is a great time to reflect on all the wonderful learning that has happened at St Joseph's this semester. This week (and weekend) I have spent time reading through the reports that staff have written on the students. I am blown away (but not surprised) how well our staff know each of our students. This is reflected in their comments and understanding of how each of them learn. When you receive the reports next week please read through them carefully and share and celebrate them with your children. It is great to see growth from students who are consistently reading or practicing their letters and sounds at home - the importance of this cannot be underestimated!

It's great to let you know what an improvement there has been in behaviour from students since our last newsletter.

A reminder that swimming is taking place this week for all students. Please ensure swimming gear is brought to school each day.

As the weather is becoming much cooler it is a great opportunity to remind parents of our school uniform. Please ensure that your child/ren are wearing suitably warm clothing and that it is a neat and tidy condition eg no rips or tears. School jackets and beanies are available as part of our optional uniform (rather than random attire) if your child requires extra warmth.

The first day of Term Three (Monday 15th July) is a Pupil Free Day to replace the one earlier this term that we missed. That day will be for staff to ensure all documents are ready for our VRQA (registration review/audit) which will be on Thursday 18th July.

Congratulations to Bridgette, Anthony and Margot on the safe but very late arrival of Charlie Ron Haysom. The students can't wait to have a visit and cuddle from him.

Good luck to Sebastian this week who represents St Joseph's at the Hume Region Cross Country Championship this Friday at Benella. Hopefully it is not as cold as it was in Yea!

Have a wonderful week everyone.

Take care and stay safe,

Maree
