Spirit Day

Last Friday our Confirmation/Eucharist Candidates and Year 4 students came together to celebrate Spirit Day. All candidates and Year 4's came dressed with a splash of red to represent the Holy Spirit.  They had the opportunity to participate in various fun activities about the Holy Spirit.  They were fortunate to come together with family, friends and sponsors for a delicious morning tea. This was followed by Spirit Day Mass with Father Junjun.

Confirmation/Eucharist Ceremonies

Congratulations to all candidates that received the Anointing of the Holy Spirit and their First Eucharist over the weekend.  We thank all those involved in supporting and teaching the candidates.  A special mention to the group leaders, Veronica Perra, Vita Janssens, Trish Seccull, Kristen O'Dwyer and Mary- Kate McCormick who ran the groups to prepare all candidates to receive these Sacraments.  We were fortunate to have Bishop Shane and Father Junjun be a part of such a special time for the candidates.

F.I.R.E Carrier Program

On Monday we were fortunate to have a visit from Michael Chisholm the CES Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Team Leader about the F.I.R.E Carrier Program at St Joseph's.

The aim of the F.I.R.E. (Friends Igniting Reconciliation through Education) Carrier Project is to promote respect, fairness and inclusion for Aboriginal people.

What is the role of a F.I.R.E.Carrier?

To be a F.I.R.E. Carrier is to exercise an important leadership role in the school community. FIRE carriers are students and teachers that share a passion for learning about Aboriginal culture and history and are committed to sharing this knowledge and promoting reconciliation within and beyond the school community.

Early Term 3 we will be inviting our Year 4 students along with any teachers to become F.I.R.E Carrier's for our school community.
