Invigor8 Education Program

Invigor8 Education Program

At Wollert Secondary College, throughout Semester 1 we have connected with the Y-Whittlesea for a select group of our Year 8 Students to be a part of a supported, practical program called Invigor8ing Education. Throughout this semester-based program our students were able to gain valuable experience in work readiness, responsibility, confidence, communication, teamwork and problem solving.

We are delighted and immensely proud to announce that five of our students have successfully graduated their work experience program at either Mill Park Leisure Centre in the Community Stream or Melbourne Polytechnic in the Trade Stream.

Congratulations to Ebony Wintle James, Aqeel Maki, Maya Hussein, Jack Flentjar and Deborah Adeshina.

Throughout the program, our students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in two enriching excursions: one to Melbourne Polytechnic Heidelberg and another to Melbourne Polytechnic Preston. These excursions featured a range of activities including hands-on bricklaying, learning the art of becoming a barista, and exploring architecture and interior design sketches. By engaging in these activities, our students not only strengthened their practical skills but also gained insights into potential career pathways and options for their future.

Our students' have shown dedication, effort, and courage each week. They have shown bravery in stepping out of their comfort zones and embracing new challenges. As they move forward, we eagerly anticipate watching them shine in their future endeavours and continue their journey of learning and growth. Their achievements during this program have laid a strong foundation for their future successes.

We look forward to seeing our next group of Year 8 Students be a part of this amazing and excelling program in Semester 2.

Kind Regards,
