Welcome back to Term 3, we hope that everyone has had a restful break. We have heard many wonderful stories of overseas holidays, staycations, movie days and keeping warm in this lovely Melbourne weather.
We are looking forward to an eventful term, beginning with our whole school production next week, Thursday 1st August. Dress rehearsal went very smoothly and it was a hype of excitement as students were able to picture and feel what it will be like on the night. Please ensure that your tickets are booked click hereand further information for student arrival will be released on Compass. If your child will not be attending on the night, please let your class teacher know. Keep an eye out on Compass for details from Sally Wickes re drop off and pick plans on the night.
We have held Three Way Conferences this week for most classes. Please note that your child’s class day and time may have been different due to staff availability and class size. Check Compass Conference details carefully. Three Way Conferences are about celebrating your child and their learning. We thank the families who attended and congratulate our students for their focussed reflection on learning so far this year. At BBPS we prioritise academic growth, as much as student wellbeing and agency, and our Three Way Conferences are a fantastic way to showcase the connection between these priorities. We encourage you to have a chat with your child if you were unable to make it on the night as our students took the time this term to prepare key learning and goals that they wanted to share with you as part of the process.
We would like to congratulate Vivi Friedrick for making it to Nationals in Cross Country. She competed at State last week and came 5th overall. We wish her luck for the next step. We would also like to congratulate Jake Borrell and Kai Goldin who have been chosen to represent Victoria in the U9 National Futsal Championship.
After Production next week, a reminder that Friday 2nd August is a curriculum day - TheirCare is available, please book in for the day if you need to.

WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 29 July to Friday 30 August 2024. All families are invited to participate in the survey.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / caregivers / guardians who speak a language other than English at home.
