What an amazing day Saturday’s Fair was!

It was such a huge success, with the beautiful weather, fantastic community atmosphere and voters onsite meant that the foot traffic was up, all stalls sold out and great fun was had by all students.

The funds raised will go towards a shade sail over the P/1 play equipment. It will take a few weeks for the final tally to be established but all in all it was a great event.

Thanks to Kylie, Mike, Zoe, Linda, Sarah and Bella who were the main Fair Coordinators who worked non-stop before, during and after the day. I know they had a great team behind them. It is a huge undertaking and on behalf of the school community I would like to sincerely thank them for their time and dedication to APS. Thank you also to all of you who baked, served, sorted, cooked, cleaned, washed, organised and helped out at the Fair. True community spirit in action.

We have an Open Afternoon next week on Wednesday 14 May from 2:30-3:25pm. This is an opportunity for current families to come into their child’s classroom and see learning in action. I hope to see many of you here for this opportunity. Grandparents and family friends are welcome, knowing that all students get excited when someone visits them in their learning space.

Prep 2026 enrolments are coming in. We have quite a number of ‘out of zone’ enquiries again for next year. We are a sought after school, which I understand because of our amazing students, fantastic data and beautiful facilities. Each tour we do, confirms that APS is truly a great place to be. If you have a sibling starting next year please get your enrolment form into the office ASAP as places are filling up and planning for 2026 has already begun.

New traffic signs around the school: We have been working with Yarra Council for many years to improve the flow of traffic and safety for students. This week the Council have changed the small faded ‘one way’ signs for bigger new ones. Note that the streets turn one way for the drop-off and collection periods of time around the school. The ‘kiss and go’ zones have also changed to 2 minutes with the idea being that parents do not need to leave their car. On occasion the traffic management team will be parked nearby and will fine vehicles in breach of these rules. Please adhere to the rules so we can all get into and out of school safely.

Have a lovely week
