What a fantastic start to Term 2 we have had! Our students are busy learning as the term is now well and truly underway.

School Photos:

I loved seeing all the smiles and stylish hairstyles coming out of our School Photo Day last week. I know I am looking forward to getting the pictures back from the photographer – they make such fantastic mementos to hold on to over the years. We will notify families once these are available in the coming weeks.

New Staff Appointment:

I’m sure the community will join me in welcoming Christina Stivala to our school. Christina will be joining us as a Learning Specialist, in a classroom-based role. Christina is an experienced teacher, having worked across various schools in our region, including Aitken Hill and Meadow Heights Primary School. Christina’s role will be to coach our staff to continue the work of improving our classroom environments that took place during Term One.

Happy Mother’s Day:

Finally, I’d like to wish all the mothers at Roxburgh Homestead a very happy Mother’s Day. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the wonderful mothers in our community so far this year. I’ve spoken with many students this week who are excited to show their appreciation for all the hard work our mothers do! As a school, we love supporting this day with our community efforts, such as the Mother’s Day Stall and special Mother’s Day Breakfast – these are always special occasions full of smiles. Mums, make sure you take some time in a way that makes sense for you this weekend – that might be an extra sleep-in, breakfast in bed or a special dinner. At the very least, make sure someone else is on the clock for a little bit!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Brock Wilson
