From the Principal Team

Natalie Shanahan, Sam Fleming, Claire Johnston

Welcome back everyone and welcome to the first newsletter of Term 2!

We hope your Easter break was as productive as the numerous trades that were busy making the most of our empty school over the holidays.

Firstly, our new TigerTurfed basketball court appeared over the break, and we're sure you'll agree it has added created quite the wow-factor. Thanks to the NorthEast Link project, dozens of letters of support from our school community and Claire Johnston's outstanding grant-application abilities we have been able to develop another part of our aging school grounds. As you can see in the photos below, it has created a beautiful space for children to play and is getting quite the workout during its first week of operation.

Secondly, the empty school provided the perfect time for our landscapers to move in and help us replace the old retaining wall along Banyule Road and re-open part of our yard that age and erosion had gotten the better of. We are pleased with the finished product and are happy we can provide the students another nice place to spend time with friends through out playtime. These works were entirely school-funded.  We look forward to planting out this area later in the term. Stay tuned for information about a working bee coming soon.

Thirdly, we are thrilled that action has ramped up in the final stage landscaping stage of the building program. During the holidays, the building project's landscape team moved in and they've begun reshaping in front of the admin building and begun placing some of the large rocks in the play space. To help you picture what's happening, we'll provide regular updates through photos and landscape plans.

Prep 2026...

We have commenced the initial stages of the enrollment process for 2026 Preps. If you have a younger child starting Prep in 2026 could you please contact the office to collect and enrollment pack.

We'll see you around,

Natalie, Claire and Sam.
