The visual of WORK IT OUT is a prompt we have displayed around the school and in our classrooms to help our students identify strategies if they encounter a problem or an issue in the yard. It shows some of the options that they can consider during yard time. Teachers use this language as well if they need to provide some support. Students are encouraged to 'Try 2, and then get a Staff Member to help you'. We want to assist our students in regulating their behaviours and negotiating solutions without always relying on a staff member to do this for them. We hope that by developing a range of strategies for our students, the yard will be a calmer and enjoyable space to play with their peers. This visual has recently been reformatted so that our suite of wellbeing resources is consistent and visually appealing for students to engage with.
Our Term 2 Lunchtime clubs are up and running. We want to thank all the staff members who give up their break times to support these clubs. The students really enjoy the variety of offerings that are available to them. These are an integral part of our school wellbeing program as they enable the students to engage with and experience a range of activities whilst building relationships with other students from across different year levels at the school and our Teachers and Education support staff. The timetable is displayed around the school in classrooms, and is below for your reference. We will update this throughout the term and hopefully fill the grid very soon.
