Years 1 and 2

We have had a busy start to Term 2 and have been excited to prepare for our Mothers Day Liturgy and create some gifts for the special ladies in our lives. We wish all our mums, nans, grandmas and special ladies a relaxing Mothers Day on Sunday.

Year 1 students enjoyed writing a recount of what they got up to during the school holidays.  We hope you enjoy some of our writing below:

I stayed home with my family. We played board games in the sun. By Ned S

On the holidays I went to Wilsons Prom Big 4 Holiday Park and me and my cousins played on the playground and had an Easter Raffle and it was so much fun. Next we had lunch, we had wraps, I love it. Next we went to Squeaky Beach and my sisters made a big hole and me and my dad played in the water.   By Sully E

On the weekend I went camping. We roasted marshmallows with my cousins. We slept in a hut with my Dad. The second day we went fishing.   By Milla P

I went to Gravity Shack and it was fun because there was a trampoline. In Gravity Shack there was a wiggly slide and I went on the wiggly slide. Also in Gravity Shack there was a big ball pit and me and Billy hopped in it and Dad watched.    By Ava I

I went to the MCG. I was hungry and my Dad got me food. Geelong lost, Carlton won. It was loud. It was cool. It was the best thing ever. I had the best time.   By Damon C

I went on a holiday and I went fishing and I fell in the cold water. After that we went in the big cabin. In the cabin there was a cool bunk bed.   By Rosie J

We are enjoying our fluency reading booklets in the mornings and have a new sign in reading log in our reader bags. Please continue to read each night with your child and Year 1s can practice their tricky words in the back of their reading log.

Year 2s have begun literacy and numeracy homework this term - just a reminder that this is optional and does not need to be returned to school.

Thank you to our families for supporting your children's learning at home.

We look forward to catching up with our parents and guardians during parent teacher interviews in Week 4. Just a reminder that you can email, call or pop in to see your child's TA if you have any queries.

Years 3 and 4

The Year 3 and 4 students have been exploring a Design Technologies and Solutions unit in Inquiry. They have learnt about components, materials, systems, tools and equipment and identified examples of each one. This week, the students looked at various items from the past and the present and tried to work out what it was and its purpose. The students loved this activity and were really engaged!

On Monday, we headed off to Parkland Golf Club to participate in Cross Country. This was the first time that the Years 3 and 4 students had attended the event and there was certainly a lot of excitement! The weather was perfect and everyone got into the team spirit and earned points for their house. Well done to all involved!
