From the Principal

As we commence Term 2, I would like to begin by acknowledging the incredible energy and commitment displayed by our staff and students during what is shaping up to be a vibrant and busy term.
A significant highlight has been the three days of professional learning with Dr Jared Cooney Horvath, focusing on the Science of Learning in line with Magnify. This series of sessions has provided our staff with powerful insights into how students learn best and how we can continue to align our teaching practices with the latest research in cognitive science. The sessions have sparked valuable conversations and will inform our pedagogy going forward.
Term 2 is always a dynamic time on the school calendar. Our Year 10 students had a terrific time at the Melbourne Urban Camp, which offered rich learning opportunities in a city environment. Our students have already participated in the School Cross Country, with high levels of involvement and enthusiasm and the term is full of more interschool sports competitions, excursions and co-curricular events that provide students with valuable experiences outside the classroom.
Catholic Education week was huge for our school - we had our College Open Day and Information Evening on Wednesday 7th May with high attendance. This was a great opportunity to showcase what our College has to offer. Early indications are strong enrolments in both Foundation and Year 7 for 2026 and we look forward to welcoming our new families next year.
On Thursday 8th May, we hosted our Annual Mother’s Day Breakfast in the Brigidine Centre, followed by our Mother’s Day Liturgy and visits to the F-4 classrooms. These community events are a great way for us to engage our families and invite people into our school. A big thank you to Rach Chapman and Lee Carmody for their event organisation and preparation.
We are also preparing for our upcoming Subject Teacher Conversations, which are a key opportunity to strengthen partnerships between families and staff and support student growth. Please see Operoo notices for more information.
Finally, I extend my thanks to our staff, families and students for their continued support and engagement as we navigate another exciting term together. To all the wonderful mums and grandmothers who love and support us all, we hope you have an amazing weekend celebrating Mother’s Day!
Pope Francis:
“A society without mothers would be a dehumanized society, for mothers are always, even in the worst moments, witnesses of tenderness, dedication, and moral strength. … Dearest mothers, thank you, thank you for what you are in your family and for what you give to the Church and the world.”
