Principal's Report

National Reconciliation Week
Next week, 27th May – 3rd June, our school community joins others across the nation in marking National Reconciliation Week (NRW), a time to reflect, learn, and grow together. The 2025 theme, Bridging Now to Next, powerfully captures the essence of reconciliation - acknowledging the truths of our shared history, celebrating the progress we’ve made, and continuing to work together for a more just and equitable future.
Bridging Now to Next calls on all Australians to step forward with unity and purpose, recognising that reconciliation is not a moment, but a journey. It is a reminder that the steps we take today are built on the foundations of the past and that we all have a role in shaping what comes next.
National Reconciliation Week has a proud history. It began in 1993 as the Week of Prayer for Reconciliation, supported by all Australia’s major faith communities during the International Year of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. In 1996, the Council for Aboriginal Reconciliation launched the first official National Reconciliation Week, and in 2001, Reconciliation Australia was established to lead the way nationally. That same year, approximately 300,000 people walked across the Sydney Harbour Bridge—and later bridges around the country—in a powerful display of unity and support.
At Holy Rosary, we honour this tradition by engaging students in meaningful learning, dialogue, and reflection. Through stories, activities, and discussion, we continue to build a generation that values respect, truth-telling, and equity. Let us all take this opportunity to reflect on our journey, to learn from the past, and to take meaningful steps together towards a reconciled future.
2026 Enrolments
Our enrolment period for children entering foundation/prep for the 2026 school year has concluded and letters of offer will be distributed next week. I would like to thank our grade 6 students for being fantastic tour guides for a large number of new families. We are incredibly proud of your efforts with some excellent feedback reinforcing their great work. A final reminder to existing families with a sibling ready to begin school we need your enrolment form
Winter Wellness Reminder
Just a gentle reminder that we’ve reached that time of term when winter illnesses tend to take hold. Both students and staff are more susceptible to colds, flu, and other seasonal bugs during this period. We kindly ask families to remain vigilant and to keep children at home if they are showing clear signs of being unwell. This helps us maintain a healthy environment for everyone and supports the wellbeing of our entire school community. Thank you for your continued care and cooperation
Pyjama day
Today was a great fun day, a celebration of our term so far. It was great to see such active participation and it certainly made for a lot of fun and excitement across the school. We raised $342 for Catholic Missions with all the donations from our students.
Board/P&F Meeting
Our School Board and P&F will meet on Wednesday night at 7.00pm. Parents are invited to attend and contribute to the success of our school community in organising social opportunities and fundraising.
