Prayer

May is the month of Mary

For Catholics and many other Christians, May is an opportunity to speak to Mary and get to know her better.

We can read the Gospels and discover her as the Mother of Jesus and how as a young girl, she too would have felt fear of the unknown.

Why is May dedicated to Mary?

The devotion to Mary during the month of May started sometime in the Thirteenth Century and began as a way to encourage more non-religious practices to be replaced with more religious traditions and acts of worship and prayer.

During this month, Catholics will offer up prayers and adoration to Mary both in Church and at home. In these difficult times we all need the loving care of Our Mother and it is important to remember that we can pray to Mary anywhere.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary,

Full of Grace,

The Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women,

and blessed is the fruit

of thy womb Jesus.

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

pray for us sinners now,

and at the hour of our death.

Amen

We kindly ask that all donations be returned by the end of this week,  so we can finalise our donation to Caritas.   A heartfelt thank you to all families who have already returned their Project Compassion boxes with such generous contributions!

A reminder to families who placed an order for our Caritas Fundraiser Sausage Sizzle. This will take place tomorrow for students with pre-submitted orders.

Thank you for your continued support.
