Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term Two!
We hope you enjoyed a restful and refreshing holiday break. We’re excited to begin another busy and rewarding term of learning and growth across our school community.
On Friday, 30th May, we will have a Pupil Free Day for Semester 1 report writing.
Big Childcare will operate on this day, so if you require care for your child, please be sure to book.
We’re pleased to share that we recently completed a very successful school review. This comprehensive process gave us the opportunity to reflect on our progress, celebrate achievements, and identify areas for continued improvement. Thank you to all staff, students, and families who contributed—your input was invaluable in shaping the future direction of our school. The new school strategic plan is in the final stages of being developed.
In line with this, the Annual Report to the School Community was presented to School Council on Monday night. The report highlights our achievements from the past year. It will be made publicly available very soon, and we encourage you to read it once published.
We’re also thrilled to welcome Joe Ybarra, an education consultant from Dataworks in San Diego, California, who is working closely with our staff this term. Joe is supporting the implementation of Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI)—a proven, structured teaching approach designed to support clear and effective learning in every classroom. This professional learning will help our teachers further strengthen their practice and support improved outcomes for all students.
Last Friday, some of our School Captains and Junior School Councillors attended the Werribee RSL Dawn Service and laid a wreath in honour of ANZAC Day. It is very special to be able to share this occasion with the community.
We are excited to be starting our school tours for future 2026 prep students and their families. An online prep information night is being held next Tuesday May 6th at 6pm. More information is provided in the Prep 2026 section of this newsletter.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to a great term ahead
