Terrific Term 2 Takes off in YEAR ONE!
Year One have been working hard in Maths, exploring Area and counting using MAB (Multi-Attribute Blocks). With eager hands and bright minds, they've been building, stacking, and grouping these blocks to deepen their understanding of place value and numbers. Their determination and enthusiasm are shining through as they make connections between units, tens, and hundreds—turning tricky concepts into triumphs!
Year 1 have also been busy exploring the fascinating world of Living Things - animals, and their curiosity reached new heights when Year 4's stick insects paid them a special visit! With wide eyes and eager hands, the students marveled at these incredible creatures, observing their delicate movements and clever camouflage. Thanks Year 4 for the amazing experience. It was an unforgettable encounter that brought science to life in the STEM classroom!
Over the past fortnight, our Year 2 students have been actively exploring the concept of mass in Mathematics. Using arm balances and informal units of measurement, they have been comparing the weight of various classroom items through hands-on investigations and collaborative learning.
In addition to their work in the classroom, Year 2 also performed at our liturgy in celebration of Mother’s Day. The students gave a heartfelt performance of You Raise Me Up, honouring the special women in their lives with beautiful singing. It was a touching moment that brought smiles (and a few happy tears!) to all who attended.
