"We will remember with gratitude the simple goodness of a humble man who was ready to make his whole life a gift of love and service, not just for his fellow Catholics but for everybody" Archbishop Timothy Costello (President, Australian Catholic Bishops Conference).
On Wednesday the 30th of April, we celebrated the last installment of our "Walk Through Holy Week" with the Resurrection of Jesus. We participated in a Guided Meditation whereby we walked through a beautiful garden and met Jesus outside of the tomb. I commend all children on their reverence and respect as we celebrated the risen Lord!
What an exciting and happy occasion it was when we celebrated that Jesus has risen with our Easter Hat Parade! The children loved showing off their carefully made creations and seeing everyone else's hats. Thank you to the parents who came along to join in our Easter Celebrations.
This morning the PACE Committee and many parent helpers treated the Mother's and Mother figures within our school community to a delicious Mother's Day Morning Tea. This was a lovely way to start the day and I thank all the people who were involved in making this wonderful event so great! What an amazing turn out of parents and friends we had!
Today Kindergarten led us in a very beautiful Liturgy to celebrate our Mums and those women in our lives who are like Mothers to us. We heard from lots of children about why they love their Mum's and Kindergarten sang some beautiful songs about their Mum's to the crowd. What a great job they all did! Thank you so much to the Kindergarten students and teachers for creating such a lovely Liturgy for us all to attend.
Please remember that our Mother's Day Stall is being held tomorrow. It is very exciting for our students to be able to have the responsibility of choosing and paying for a gift for the special women in their lives. All classes have an allocated timeslot to visit the Mother's Day Stall and we will encourage siblings to go together to ensure Mum's don't get three of the same gift! Thank you to our parent volunteers for all of the extensive organisation that has gone into this and for the running of the Mother's Day Stall tomorrow.
Catholic Schools Week in 2025 will be celebrated in Catholic schools throughout the Bathurst Diocese from Monday 12th May through to Sunday 18th May. This annual event is an opportunity for schools to promote the special ethos of Catholic schools and to highlight the great things that take place in these schools every day. The theme for this year’s celebrations is: Guided by Faith, Inspired by Hope, Committed to Learning.
In the words of our Executive Director of Schools, Christina Trimble,“Catholic schools stand as a beacon in our society, for their contribution to the common good and to the nation’s social capital. They have helped to nurture a more just, tolerant and cohesive society”.
There are 33 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Bathurst that educate around 9000 students and most will celebrate Catholic Education Week in some way. Our school is planning to have Open Classrooms on Tuesday 13th May from 2pm. You are invited to come and look at your child's classrooms and see them in action. During this time, classrooms will have a Catholic School's Week Liturgy. We would love to have you join us to celebrate our wonderful school!
We will continue our Parish Masses and Class Reconciliations this Term. Masses are held on Thursday mornings at 9:30am and parents are invited to sit with their children if they so wish. Class Reconciliation is on Thursday mornings after the Parish Mass which gives our students who have undertaken the Sacrament of Reconciliation a chance to participate in this most important sacrament once again.
