Positive Climate for Learning.

What an incredible start we have had to the school year! It has been truly inspiring to see our students return with such enthusiasm, positivity, and commitment to their learning. Classrooms have been buzzing with energy, and our school community is already demonstrating the values that make it such a special place. Something shown by the great attendance and participation with our recent Athletics carnival.
One of the most exciting highlights has been the outstanding number of recognition points awarded so far. We are proud to share that students have earned over 6,700 recognition points this term. This is a remarkable achievement, and a clear reflection of how consistently our students are demonstrating our core school values of Respect, Resilience, and Care in their everyday actions.
Our students had a great time during the Vic Metro Information Incursion as they got ready for their City Experience Excursions.
Metro Trains representative visited to show students how to safely travel on Melbourne’s rail network, plan their routes, and navigate the key stations they’ll be using during their city adventures.
It was a fun and informative session that helped build confidence and gave students the skills they need to travel safely and independently around the city.
Year 8 Humanities students have been engaging in a Civics and Citizenship unit with a focus on Australian law. As part of this learning, classes participated in mock trials, with students undertaking a range of roles within the courtroom setting.
Across two class periods, one particularly talented student took on the role of Court Sketch Artist, producing an outstanding visual record of the proceedings. Her work thoughtfully and skilfully captures key moments from the case, demonstrating both creativity and a strong understanding of the courtroom environment.
Based on the enthusiasm and capability shown throughout this activity, it is clear we may have some future legal professionals among our students.
🏁 Start your engines! Our Year 9 Engineering students have been busy — wiring circuits, constructing chassis, and 3D printing custom dragster bodies before painting and assembling the final build. Race day didn't disappoint, with some very competitive (and very dramatic) finishes. As any F1 fan knows, even Oscar Piastri has the occasional off day! Well done Year 9 Engineering — Albert Park 2027, we're coming for you. 🚗⚡
As we approach the holiday break, it is important for students to take time to rest and recharge after such a busy and productive start to the year. We encourage families to support their children in finding a healthy balance—enjoying a well-earned break while also gently reflecting on their progress so far.
The holidays can also be a valuable opportunity for students to think about their goals and how they can prepare for a successful Term 2. Simple conversations at home
about what went well this term, what challenges they faced, reflecting on Parent Teacher Interviews and interim reports, and what they might do differently moving forward can make a meaningful difference.
