Fete

Last Friday's twilight fete was a fantastic night. The energy, the smiles, and the genuine sense of community made it a memorable event.

A big thank you to our Parents and Friends Committee for the enormous amount of work that went into making it happen. From months of planning through to the night itself, their effort was outstanding. Thank you also to every volunteer who rolled up their sleeves and gave their time — it wouldn't have happened without you.

The funds raised will go directly toward upgrading our blue park playground. Whist this fundraising is valuable, the best part of Friday night was seeing our community come together — catching up, having fun, and enjoying each other's company.

That sense of connection is what makes our school such a great place to be.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it what it was.

Yellow Park Opening   

Last Friday our whole school community came together to officially open the brand new yellow park playground. It always feels important to mark moments like this as a whole community, and it was great to see so many families there alongside staff and students.

The ribbon cutting made it all feel wonderfully official. Fittingly, the honour of the first slide went to former Parents and Friends Committee President Carl — a well-earned nod to the community effort that made it possible. This wouldn't have happened without the fundraising efforts of our community over recent years.

Swimming

Our Grade 1 to 4 students recently completed their swimming program at Brunswick Baths, and it was a wonderful week all round. As a core part of our curriculum, the program provides students with essential water safety skills and growing confidence in the water — experiences that extend well beyond the school years.

We are grateful that the program is funded by the Department of Education, ensuring all students are able to participate fully.

We look forward to our Grade 5 and 6 students completing their component of the swimming program next week in partnership with the Port Melbourne Surf Lifesaving Club — a fitting setting for our older students to develop their skills.

Attendance

Regular, on-time attendance is one of the most important things families can do to support their child's learning. Every day at school matters — and so does every part of the day.

Late drop-offs and early pick-ups, even when occasional, can disrupt a child's routine, cause them to miss important instruction time, and interrupt the learning of their classmates.

We understand that life is busy and that sometimes these things are unavoidable. However, where possible, we ask families to prioritise full days of attendance.
