Learning Conferences

Thank you to all families who have booked an interview time to meet with your child's teacher to share progress over the past term. I hope you find the opportunity worthwhile and are able to come to a common understanding of goals moving forward.

Please take the time over the holidays to view your child's Portfolio in detail. We ask that you return it by the start of the new term.

Fees and Levies

Thank you to all families who are up to date with fee and levy payments for 2025. This is a reminder that (unless you are on a payment plan) fees and levies for the 2025 school year need to be finalised by Friday, 19th September.

School Disco

I hope you have all marked in your diaries the date of this year's School Disco, which will be held on Friday, October 17th, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. (the second Friday of Term 4). This is the social event of the year for our children and should prove to be a huge hit!

THIS WILL BE A MOBILE PHONE-FREE EVENT.

Mobile phones will not be permitted to be brought into the hall.

Our PFA will be assigned various supervision tasks throughout the evening. We kindly ask parents to drop their children off at 6:30 p.m. and return to collect them at 8:00 p.m. sharp.

Our Disco is open only to children in Years Prep-6. The cost is $10.00 per child ($15 per family), payable at the door on the night. Once inside, children will not be permitted to leave the hall until they are collected by their parents at the conclusion.

Our always-popular Candy Corner will operate, where children can purchase goodies such as drinks, snacks, and glow sticks!

Please be aware that with the restriction of 'space' due to our building program, there won't be the provision of a 'quiet zone'. Please factor this into your arrangements, and an earlier 'pick-up time' may be beneficial to some.

Our School Disco is always a popular event on the calendar, and this year will be no exception!

MACSSIS

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS): Monday 1 September – Friday 19 September 2025

Last week we sent all families the link to the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS) Family Survey.

The main goal of the family survey is to identify our school's strengths and areas for improvement. MACSSIS data benefits everyone within our school and provides valuable community insights on areas that each school can focus on.

Surveys can be completed up until Friday 19th September.

Summer Uniform

Next term children will transition into their summer uniform by the end of Week Two.

If you need uniform requirements, I suggest you order now. Our Summer Collection is on display in the office and ready for purchase .

Order now to beat the October price rises!

  • Monday 6th October: Staff professional Learning: MACS Flourishing Learners & Vision for Engagement

  • Monday 3rd November: Teacher Professional Practice Day

Multicultural Day

On Wednesday, October 22nd, our children will participate in Corpus Christi Multicultural Day. This is an exciting day when we, as a school community, will celebrate Australia as a multicultural nation. The children will participate in THREE special activities they selected during their Italian lesson. Please be aware of the ingredients in our cooking activities—they are listed below. Feel free to see me if you have any questions.

Pizzelle (Waffle) Making - (plain flour, eggs, sugar, vanilla sugar, oil, lemon rind, cooking spray)

Maltese Qassatat - (Puff pastry, ricotta, eggs, salt, pepper)

If you have a spare lemon or two, we would LOVE some donations for our cooking activities.  We will start collecting those on Monday, 20th October, so the rind stays firm.

As a part of the celebrations, our wonderful PFA is organising a special lunch for the children. More details will be available closer to the day.

To add to the atmosphere, we would love the children to come to school dressed in something that reflects a different Culture. In the past, we have been graced with the presence of an Argentinian soccer player, an ancient Roman soldier, a K-Pop star, and even a Disney Princess or two. Colours that represent a nation or a flag (red, white, and green for Italy) can also make a colourful costume. Of course, this is entirely optional, but it makes for a great Class Dojo photo.

The timetable for the day is as follows:

8.45 – 9.05 Distribute timetables in the classroom

9.10 - 9.55 First Rotation

9.55 Children to meet their teacher at "line up" spots

10.00 - 11.00 PERFORMANCE in the hall - Children sit with their class

11.00 -11.45 RECESS

11.45 -12.30 Second Rotation

12.30 -1.15 Third Rotation

2.00 - 2.10 Unwind time with some Multicultural Music

2.10 - 3.00 "Instrument Making" Workshops in communities
