Term 3—  The Importance of Parent Engagement

Parent involvement plays a vital role in creating a vibrant and successful school community. When families engage with school events and activities, it not only strengthens connections but also directly supports student learning and wellbeing.

Last week, we were thrilled to see such strong support from our school community through two major events, the Trivia Night and the Readathon. Thank you to our families for your generosity and participation. The Trivia Night raised an amazing $2,000. Thankyou to the great work of Bec Doheny, School Council fundraiser lead, in organising this fun evening for parents, staff and wider community. Meanwhile, the Readathon raised an incredible $4,200, which will go directly towards enhancing our school library. Congratulations to the Student Voice in organising a meaningful and successful event. Thank you to all families who contributed, attended, donated, or helped make these events such a success.

This afternoon we were delighted to welcome over a hundred dads, grandparents, and special guests into our school to celebrate Father’s Day. It was a wonderful opportunity for the fathers and father figures in our community to come together and spend quality time with their children, creating special memories through shared experiences. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who was able to take time out of their day to join us, your presence made the afternoon truly special.

As a staff we continue to be grateful to have such incredible support from our families and extended community. Thank you.

Beauty and The Beast Performance

The Year 5/6 students were invited to ‘be our guest’ at the Baimbridge College performance of Beauty and the Beast. Students were treated to this outstanding performance showcasing amazing talent. It was a pleasure to see several past students throughout the show. Thank you to Baimbridge College for inviting us!

Happening Next Week

Aladdin: Wednesday September 10th

Next week our Grade 1/2  students and School Choir will be attending the matinee performance of Aladdin by Good Shepherd College at the PAC on Wednesday September 10th. The group will leave school at 10:30 and return by lunch time. We thank Good Shepherd College for this invitation. We know our students are excited about the opportunity to experience a live production.

Hoop Time: Tuesday September 9th and Friday September 12th

Next week students from our Grade 4s and our Grade 6s will be heading to HILAC to compete in the Hoop Time Competition.  In the Grade 4 Hoop Time this year we have five teams competing, and in the Grade 6 we will have four teams.  This is always an event that is highly anticipated by our students and we thank the parents who have given up their time to coach or score to help make the day happen.

Grade 5/6 State Netball Finals in Melbourne: Tuesday September 9th

Next Tuesday we will be sending a mixed team of 9 netballers to Melbourne for the State Netball Championships, having qualified through their strong performances at the local qualifying event held in Hamilton two weeks ago. This is a great opportunity for these students who will play a series of qualifying games at the State Netball Hockey Centre, with the hope of making it through to the finals. We wish our netballers the best of luck against the top teams in the State!

Grade 5/6 Mini Markets – Thursday September 11th

Our enthusiastic Grade 5/6 students are thrilled to host a fun-filled morning of activities, games, and delicious treats for the entire school community next Thursday. All students are invited to bring along silver coins to join in the fun or purchase a variety of special goodies on offer. All funds raised will go towards supporting the Grade 6 Big Day Out later in the year.
