Our Faith - Religious Education

🙏 End of Term Prayer 🙏
Loving God,
As we come to the end of this school term, we thank You for the learning, laughter, and friendships we have shared.
Bless our teachers, classmates, and families for the care and support they give us each day.
Keep us safe during the holiday break, and help us to return refreshed and ready for the new term ahead.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Holy Communion
We congratulate all the students who received their First Holy Communion on Sunday. This is such an exciting step in their faith journey, and we are so proud of their commitment and reverence. A heartfelt thank you to Fr Damien and Fr Eli for leading us in this special sacrament and for their ongoing guidance and support.
🎶 Dance-a-thon & Crazy Hair/Sock Day – Supporting Catholic Missions 🎶
Next Term our school will be holding a Dance-a-thon combined with Crazy Hair and Sock Day to raise funds for Catholic Missions.
Each class will have a 30-minute time slot in the hall to dance, move, and have fun while collecting sponsorship from family and friends. Students will receive a stamp card to track their progress, and of course, they are encouraged to wear their craziest socks and wackiest hair!
Funds raised will go towards supporting children and families in Zambia, helping provide education, healthcare, and essential resources.
Thank you for supporting this fun event where our students can make a real difference!
Exciting Parish News
Exciting things are happening in our parish! Please take a moment to read the letter from Fr Damien for more details. We look forward to seeing many of our families join us on Saturday, 29th November for this special occasion.
Blessed Carlo Acutis
Carlo was an ordinary teenager from Italy who loved computers, video games, and soccer. What made him extraordinary was the way he used his gifts to share his faith. He created a website to catalogue Eucharistic miracles from around the world and became known as the “patron of the internet.”
Carlo reminds us that holiness is not just for adults or saints from long ago – it is possible for young people today. He once said: “To always be close to Jesus, that’s my life plan.”
Year of Jubilee
2025 is a Jubilee Year in the Catholic Church.
A Jubilee Year is traditionally proclaimed by the Universal Church every 25 years. It is a particular year set aside to encourage the faithful to embark on pilgrimages, to repent of their sins and forgive the sins of others, and to renew a focus on spiritual life.
The theme is Pilgrims of Hope. Pope Francis has invited Catholics to renew our hope and discover a vision that can "restore access to the fruits of the earth to everyone". We are also invited to rediscover a spirituality of God's creation in which we understand ourselves as "pilgrims on the earth" rather than masters of the world.
You will see this logo often this year...
The logo symbolises unity and fraternity among all of humanity, with four stylised figures from different corners of the earth embracing each other. The leading figure holds a cross, representing faith and hope. The rough waves beneath the figures symbolise life's challenges, emphasising the need for hope in difficult times. The elongated lower part of the cross forms an anchor, a well-known symbol of hope. This image depicts the pilgrimage as a communal journey towards the cross, which reaches out dynamically to offer presence and hope.
