VCE Legal Studies
Recently, the Unit 4 Legal Studies class enjoyed a visit from our local Federal Member, Dan Tehan. Students have been studying the role of parliament in law-making and evaluating how the Australian Constitution acts as a check on the law-making powers of parliament.
Mr Tehan spoke to the Legal Studies class and other Year 12 students about his role in Parliament, how he entered politics, and shared real-life examples of his involvement in the legislative process. His insights provided students with a valuable and practical perspective on the workings of our federal political system.
We thank Dan Tehan for generously giving up his time to speak with our students. Next term, the class will visit State Parliament where they will be hosted by Roma Britnell.

Year 11 & 12 RYDA Road Safety
This week, some of our Year 11 & 12 students attended the RYDA Road Safety Workshop held at Deakin University.
The students completed six workshops where they were able to consider a large number of factors in road safety ranging from distractions, to the mood of the driver, and the quality of the car and roads.
They also heard real testimonies from car crash survivors and watched a practical braking demonstration. The practical demonstration gave a significant visual aid to the importance of observing the signed speed limits on roads.
