Prep Learning Reflection

In Literacy this fortnight, we've introduced Unit 7 of SoundsWrite which focuses on the sounds for the letter y and x and also the double letter sounds ll, ff, ss, and zz. 

We've all been working hard in Writing and the students are doing an amazing job practising using their sound knowledge and heart words to write their own messages. 

In Reading, we've been focusing on 'Where The Wild Thing Are' and 'Edward the Emu' as our narrative texts. We've been exploring new vocabulary, sequencing events and identifying problems and solutions.

In Numeracy, the students have begun using bundling sticks to represent 1s and 10s, have been counting by 10s to 90 and have been solving addition problems. 

We're almost at the end of their first Semester of school and what a wonderful first half of the year it has been!

Early next term the Preps will be celebrating their 100th day of Prep on the 1st of August! They will be dressing up as if they were 100 years old, so start brainstorming and putting their outfits together over the holidays!
